Literacy Through Lyrics

Literacy Through Lyrics is a program created to help youth expand their vocabulary and find a new love for reading and writing. It entails 8 one-hour sessions. Literacy Through Lyrics also help the youth overcome the fear of judgement and boosts their confidence making them less shy and more confident in their natural ability to create something on their own.

Participants choose a topic and we discuss the topic. The youth are then provided with resources and with the help of our instructors, create their own lyrics and record a song! Once the song is completed, the participants can then take the song and share it with their family and friends.
